Competition Format

The Unruly Theatre Project will serve as the evening’s host and the 6 selected teams will compete in preselected short-form improvised games. Each round, teams will be assigned in a different order. Each judge will have 5 points to award each team based on the competition rubric. Judges will score each team immediately following their performance in each round. Final placement will be determined soley based on the judges scores. While scores are being verified, The Unruly Theatre Project will perform. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. An additional prize will be awarded to the team who brings the largest crowd.  All teams must be present throughout the entire competition.

Guidelines, Judging, and Awards

3 professional judges will be awarding teams based on theatrical improvisation skills. The judging rubric will be provided to all participating teams. While improv is often very funny, the judges will not be awarding teams based on comicality –“in other words be funny and have fun, but don’t forget to uses the skills you’ve learned to make a good scene.”
