The purpose of this survey is to gather detailed information about hybrid and remote working arrangements among USW local 1998 members. The results will be used by your union to better understand members’ working conditions and to support evidence-based proposals as we enter collective bargaining. This survey asks you to reflect on your working arrangements across three points in time: before the COVID-19 pandemic, during the COVID-19 lockdown, and at the present day.
By comparing these periods, the union aims to understand how work location, flexibility, and expectations have changed over time. You will be asked about where and when you work (for example, days on campus versus remotely), whether you perform different duties depending on location, the quality of your workspace at different locations, your preferences, and the reasons for those preferences.
The survey also includes questions about your job title, department, classification, pay band, and start date. Please note that this survey is non-anonymous. You will be asked to provide your email address for the purpose of improving the union’s membership database and to help contextualize survey results. Responses will be handled confidentially and only reported in aggregate. No identifying information will ever be reported on, released, or used in bargaining.
Participation is voluntary. You may skip any question or exit the survey at any time.
