The purpose of this survey is to find out if the presence or absence of a support crew and/or pacers accompanying a runner during a 100-mile race affects a person psychologically enough to affect their physical ability. Your participation in completing this survey is voluntary and you may decide to stop at any time for any reason with no penalty, or you may choose not to answer any of the survey questions. All responses will be kept confidential. You will be asked to complete questions regarding your training, running experience, and crew/pacers in your up coming race; this process should not take more than 10 minutes. This is a first-of-its-kind study and your participation is greatly appreciated and will help advance the scientific knowledge around ultra running.
Even if you do not plan on having any pacers or a crew please feel free to participate as your answers are also greatly valued.

If you have any questions or concerns about the nature of this research or the survey please contact Conner Jackson (conner.jackson@western.edu) or Christina Buchanan (chbuchanan@western.edu)

By continuing to the survey, I acknowledge that I am at least 18 years old, have read the above information, and provide my consent to participate under the terms above.

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Western State Colorado University has approved this research project (HRC2015-02-72R6).

Please fill out all questions to the best of your knowledge. Please also fill out the survey in its entirety. All answers are kept anonymous and secure.
