The University of Central Asia's (UCA) Winter Upgrading Programme offers intensive upgrading courses in English and Mathematics for Grade 11 students in Central Asia who plan to apply to universities with English-language instruction and that require English and Mathematics entrance exam(s). The programme also helps students prepare for UCA's admission test and for future success in the University's first-year Preparatory Programme.

WHEN AND WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?
The four-day intensive programme is offered for students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan during winter break and will take place at:

UCA Naryn Campus (Kyrgyzstan) - 3 till 6 January 2018
UCA Khorog Campus (Tajikistan) - 9 till 12 January 2018 
Kulyab (Tajikistan) - 9 till 12 January 2018 

Students will receive 16 hours of English and Mathematics instruction. This is a unique opportunity to experience a world class campus and education from highly qualified faculty. Students will be accommodated at the state of the art university residences and will be provided with 3 meals a day and tea breaks. Transportation to and from Naryn campus will be provided by UCA. If you require a letter of exemption from classes, UCA can provide a letter of participation in the programme.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Grade 11 students from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will undergo the Programme in UCA Naryn Campus (Kyrgyzstan), 3-6 January 2018.
Grade 11 students from Tajikistan will undergo the Programme in UCA Khorog Campus (Tajikistan), 9-12 January 2018.
Grade 11 students from Kulyab will be offered to undergo the Programme in Kulyab (venue to be communicated in due course), 9-12 January 2018.

Transportation for students from Kazakhstan:
Please note that the transportation to Naryn will be arranged on 2 January, and transportation back to the pick-up location will be arranged on 7 January. Students from all locations are welcome to apply; the UCA pick-up locations in Kazakhstan are as follows:

Tekeli 
Taldykorgan 
Kapchagay 
Almaty 
Taraz 

Transportation for students from Kyrgyzstan:
Please note that the transportation to Naryn will be arranged on 2 January, and transportation back will be arranged on 7 January. Students from all locations are welcome to apply; the UCA pick-up locations in Kyrgyzstan are as follows:

Karakol
Bishkek

Transportation for students from Tajikistan:
Please note that the transportation to Khorog will be arranged on 8 January, and transportation back will be arranged on 13 January. Students  from all locations are welcome to apply; the UCA pick-up locations in Tajikistan are as follows:

Dushanbe
Kulyab
Khujand

Grade 11 students from Kulyab will be offered to undergo the programme in Kulyab. In the end of the Programme, the students are invited to visit UCA Khorog campus, travel dates are 13-14-15 January.  

WHAT IS THE SELECTION CRITERION?
Selection will be based on an overall assessment of high school performance (grades) in English and Mathematics and the statement of purpose describing personal motivations and aptitude. Selection will be merit based.

WHEN WILL RESULTS BE ANNOUNCED?
Final results announced to all applicants by email: 19 December 2017. 
Successful candidates must notify selection committee of acceptance by: 22 December 2017.
