Participant Information Sheet

We (Brandon Morgan, Mandy Wigdorowitz, and Nicola Taylor) from the University of Johannesburg and JvR Psychometrics are inviting you to participate in a study that aims to investigate whether personality type is related to burnout. We understand that taking part in this study requires an investment of your time. Your participation will be greatly appreciated. Your results will help us to further understand how personality type relates to well-being at work. You are invited to complete a biographical questionnaire and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). The only condition for participation is that you know what your MBTI® type is (e.g., you have received your MBTI® type and have confirmed that this is your type). The questionnaires will take you approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please note that no reports will be provided on your results.

RESEARCH AGREEMENT

1. Your participation is voluntary and you may withdraw from the study at any point;
2. There will be no negative consequences for choosing not to participate in the study;
3. We will only include you in the study if you give us your consent to do so;
4. Your responses will be anonymous;
5. All the data that we collect will be safely stored on password protected computers.

If you choose to participate, you will be consenting to the above-mentioned information, and you will be giving permission for all data collected throughout the study to be used for analysis and reporting. You are welcome to contact us if you have any questions about the research. You may also request access to the research results once the study is completed.  Ethical clearance for this study has been granted by the Faculty Ethics Committee (FAREC2017IPPM02).
