Texas Intercity Bus Study

This study is focused on determining if there are intercity bus service needs and priorities in Texas or desirable changes to the current system.

This survey is specifically for regional planning agencies. There is a separate survey for transit agencies such as transit districts or authorities and other providers of public transit. If a regional planning  agency (e.g. a COG or MPO) is also a transit agency, they should fill out both surveys.

Other types of organizations are invited to complete a stakeholder survey.

Intercity bus service means:
  • Regularly scheduled bus service for the general public that operates with limited stops over fixed routes connecting two or more urban areas not in close proximity
  • Has the capacity for transporting baggage carried by passengers
  • Makes meaningful connections with scheduled intercity bus service to more distant points, if such service is available (think Greyhound-type service)

The deadline for submitting a survey response has passed. If you have any feedback regarding intercity bus service in Texas, please send it to bpowell@kfhgroup.com. Updates about this study can be found on the project web page at https://www.txdot.gov/inside-txdot/division/public-transportation/intercity-bus-study.html
