About TxBWHI
Established 2010 through Texas Department of State Health Services
-Texas Black Women’s Health Initiative (TxBWHI) is a collective, regionally located team created to mobilize with the focus on HIV education, prevention, and care retention by influencing policy, systems, programs, projects, cultures, and practices to reduce HIV-related disparities in communities of Black women.
-The Texas Black Women’s Health Initiative (TxBWHI) vision will mobilize communities to end HIV- related disparities among Black women.
-The mission of the Texas Black Women’s Health Initiative (TxBWHI) is to achieve sustainable systemic change by actively engaging and empowering Black women to address HIV disparities related to the prevention and care continuum.
-The TxBWHI Houston Team renders educational entertainment related to positive sexual health through our Women of Worth W.O.W. Bag Social Intervention, Be-YOU-tiful Health +Hair Show and What’s The Tea?...Sexual Health Awareness Events.
