Burke County Fixed Route Bus Service Survey |
Greenway Public Transportation, Western Piedmont Council of Governments and the Community Foundation of Burke County, along with other area partners, are currently exploring the possibility of developing an experimental circulator bus route in Burke County. The proposed route would connect the City of Morganton with Blue Ridge Healthcare - Valdese as well as other towns along US 70 including Drexel, Valdese, Rutherford College and Connelly Springs.
The proposed fixed route service would aid residents in gaining much needed access to healthcare, grocery stores, educational institutions, shopping, recreation and countless other amenities and services. Additionally, the bus route would act as an economic driver by better connecting citizens to employment centers in Burke County.
The purpose of this survey is to gain insight in the needs and wants of citizens. Because the bus route is in the early planning stages, public input is crucial to establishing a bus system that addresses the needs of residents, as well as the community as a whole.
