This is a research study being conducted by Thrive Resources in partnership with Faithful and True on the relationship between exposure to internet pornography, shame, childhood experiences, and sexual activity.  The target audience is men and women born between the years of 1983 and 1998.   The survey is an anonymous on-line questionnaire.  There will be no attempt to identify the survey participants.  It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete the survey.  In order for the survey to be used and valid, the survey must be completed.

You will get no direct benefit from taking part in the study. However, by determining the connections between exposure to internet pornography and other childhood experiences, this research can help  develop a better understanding of the issues and determine more effective resources and responses moving forward.

Participation in the study is voluntary. No action will be taken against you if you do not take part in the study.

If participating in the survey, you experience significant distress or an intense emotional response, and do not believe you are safe, immediately call 911 for assistance.  If answering questions about your history, you realize you would like to process your experiences further, a licensed therapist in your area can be a good resource.  If participating in the survey creates hopelessness and a desire to end your life, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
