Each year, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management reviews books published in the nonprofit sector
and awards the Terry McAdam Book Award. The Alliance forms a diverse Award Committee, which
seeks nominations for the most inspirational and useful new book published which makes a
substantial contribution to nonprofit management.

Through the Terry McAdam Book Award, thousands of technical assistance providers, nonprofit staff, and board members benefit from the very best thinking and ideas in nonprofit management and governance.

To be eligible for the award, books must meet the following criteria:

a. Specifically address issues of nonprofit management, capacity building, management consulting,
or advancement of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit sector.

b. Be a first edition published in 2017 or 2018. For a book published in 2017 to be eligible, this must
be its first nomination (i.e., the book could not have been nominated last year).

c. Must be actively marketed to the national nonprofit community or a specific nonprofit
community.

d. Academic textbooks, books authored by Alliance Board members, and books authored by
McAdam Book Award Committee members are not eligible and will not be considered.

e. Be available in print, electronic or pdf form.

f. Must have a price point (i.e., be available for purchase, not a free publication).

Nominations must be submitted by 8:59 PM (PDT)/ 11:59 PM (EDT) Tuesday May 15, 2018. Finalists will be notified in late July and invited to be present for the award ceremony at the national conference of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management in the fall.
