Tell Your Story - Disaster Recovery and Resilience in the Grampians

The purpose of this survey is to better understand the experiences of women, men and gender diverse people in the Grampians Region living in areas that were affected by bushfires that occurred during the summers of 2024 and 2025.

Research has shown that during and after natural disasters such as bushfires, there can be different impacts and effects experienced by women, men and gender diverse people. This project has a particular focus on listening to and understanding the needs and experiences of women and gender diverse people here in the Grampians Region.

Who are we? – Women’s Health Grampians is a local not-for-profit organisation working to improve women’s equality, health and wellbeing across the Grampians Region. We are based in the region and have a commitment to improving outcomes for women and gender diverse people.

What we’ll do with the responses -
  • We will use the information provided in the surveys along with our focus groups and interviews to document people’s experiences with the 2024 and 2025 bushfires.
  • We will share the report with the intention of improving outcomes and better supporting women and gender diverse people and communities more broadly across the Grampians Region.
  • All information will be anonymous and we won’t identify you in the report.
  • The report will be made public.
