Criteria and eligibility

The 2019 Tasmanian Palliative Care Awards celebrate excellence and achievement from organisations, professionals and volunteers in palliative care.
 
The Awards comprise four separate categories:
 
 
1. Outstanding Palliative Care Organisation

Open to any organisation providing palliative care to Tasmanians with a life-limiting illness. Includes:
  • Palliative care units, hospitals, multipurpose centres, district or regional hospitals, aged care providers, volunteer organisations, community groups, community services or home care providers. 


2. Outstanding Palliative Care Professional

Open to any employee, or student, working in palliative care in Tasmania. Includes:
  • Nurses, carers, doctors, allied health professionals, CEOs, aged care workers, administrators, marketers, academics, students or educators.
 

3. Outstanding Palliative Care Volunteer

Open to any registered volunteer supporting Tasmanians with a life-limiting illness and their families. Includes:
  • Palliative and hospice care volunteers, hospital volunteers, community volunteers, cancer support centre volunteers, aged care volunteers.
 
4. Outstanding Palliative Care Community Charter Advocate

Open to any organisation or individual supporting Tasmanians with a life-limiting illness and their families. Includes:
  • An individual or organisation that has demonstrated excellence in embedding relevant Charter principals into practice.
