Special Event: Become a More Prolific and Efficient Scholar
Workshops with Tara Gray, Ph.D.
Friday, March 29
Standish Room (Science Library)

Tara Gray, one of the most highly sought-after presenters in the US on professional productivity in academe, is our guest for two interactive, hands-on workshops. She does double duty as Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Director of the New Mexico State University Teaching Academy. She has presented workshops on academic and professional productivity in more than thirty-five of the United States, and in Thailand, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. We invite you to join us for two workshops that are sure to have an impact on your daily work as well as on your long-term goals.

Workshop 1: Publish and Flourish, 9:30-11:30 am
Much is known about how to become a better, more prolific scholar–and any scholar can. Participants in this workshop will learn specific and concrete strategies they can put to use right away to improve the quantity and quality of their scholarly work.

Workshop 2: Managing Time, 1:30-3:30 pm
Educators are pulled in many directions at once, facing publication deadlines, piles of student papers, committee obligations, and that ever-growing list of unanswered emails. This workshop introduces strategies and concrete practices to open up some “space” in our lives, in which we can reflect, consider the long term, and function more productively.
*NOTE: Because of space reconfiguration, we are currently unable to host workshops in the ITLAL office. Please take careful note of the location of the workshops you plan to attend. Our staff offices are still in Library 69 and we will continue to hold individual consultations in this space. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
