With the Christmas trading period approaching, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder would like to hear from local retailers about their preferred trading hours.
The Minister for Commerce is expected to release a proposed Christmas trading hours package. As Council may need to consider and endorse any request to vary Christmas trading hours, we want to understand whether local retailers would support the Minister's proposal, prefer a different arrangement, or like to keep the status quo.
Your feedback will help us understand what works best for local businesses and provide valuable information to Council when considering any alternative trading hours.
Please note that any approved Christmas trading hours would set the maximum hours retailers may choose to open. Businesses are not required to open for the full approved period and may continue to set their own operating hours within the approved trading window.

The following were the City’s approved retail trading hours for 2025:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Thursday: 7:00 am – 9:00 pm
Saturday: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday & Public Holidays*: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Sundays in December: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
*Excluding Christmas Day, Good Friday and ANZAC Day.
