Dear Yukon businesses and stakeholders, 

We invite you to participate in a short survey on the Yukon business community’s perceptions of the regulatory assessment process mandated under the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Act (YESAA). 

Your participation in this survey is crucial in helping the Yukon Chamber of Commerce to better understand your views on this important matter. This survey should take only 10 minutes. You are invited to complete the survey by November 21, 2017.

DEFINITIONS

Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB): consists of an executive committee of three persons and four other members. Its role is to administer the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act (YESAA) 
Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act (YESAA): 
establishes a process for assessing the environmental and socio-economic effects of certain activities in the Yukon.
Assessment:
means an evaluation by a designated office, a screening by the executive committee or a review by a panel of the Board.
Decision Body: is a federal, territorial or First Nation government or agency that regulates and permits the proposed activity. When assessments are complete, recommendations are sent to the relevant Decision Body(ies) that will then decide whether to accept, reject or modify YESAB’s recommendations.
