ASD Opening of Schools Parent & Family Working Group

As the Allentown School District prepares to safely return to school buildings during 2021, engaging parents and guardians in this process is more important than ever. 

In the summer of 2020, ASD first formed a focus group with parents who worked collaboratively with district leaders to provide feedback on how remote instruction went in the spring. This feedback was used to build a better, more robust system for the fall and helped determine what additional resources were needed. This group also helped guide what information was created for ASD’s Virtual Campus Parent University. 

We are looking for parents who can provide real and authentic feedback to ASD but also help share district information with other families. Parents & guardians of all grade levels are encouraged to join. 

We also want to make an extra effort to include our Spanish speaking families All meetings will have a Spanish speaker present and utilize Zoom’s simultaneous interpretation feature. 

To kick-off 2021, we want to expand this group! The first meeting will take place over zoom on January 20 at 3:30 PM. Use this survey to sign up and receive Zoom information.
