You were selected as a potential participant due to being a current student at a university or college and having a basic understanding of technology. Please read this form and ask any questions you may have before acting on this invitation to participate in the study.
Breanna Gorski, a doctoral candidate at the University of the Cumberlands (UC), is conducting this study, which has been approved by the UC Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Background Information:
The purpose of this study is to explore how technologies affect how students and faculty gain digital literacy skills. Since technologies continue to evolve and innovate in higher education, universities and colleges are facing challenges with how to address providing educational resources to prepare students for upcoming careers.
Inclusion Criteria:
You can participate in this study if you:
. Are a current college or university student
. Have a basic understanding of technologies
Procedures:
If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to complete a consent form to participate. If you are uncomfortable with participating in the research study, please select no in the consent form. If you are comfortable with participating in the research study, please select yes and proceed to the survey.
Voluntary Nature of the Study:
Your participation in this study is strictly voluntary. Your decision on whether or not to participate will not affect your current or future relations with the university or college. If you initially decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time later without affecting those relationships.
Risks and Benefits of Participation:
There is at least minimal risk associated with participating in this study. The risk is minimal as it includes an online survey only. The survey link will be forwarded from the higher administration of the university or college, and no individual private data will be collected during the study.
In the event you experience any stress or anxiety during the participation of the study, you can skip any question that causes stress or anxiety and can exit the survey at any time.
Compensation:
There is no individual benefit to participation in the study. Study findings may provide the overall benefit of allowing universities and colleges to improve on their technology needs and assessments for students.
