FOREST EXCHANGE LAB
|
FOREST FRINGE X MELBOURNE FRINGE is an innovative residency project bringing together local and international artists to explore the streets and spaces of Melbourne’s West. The project brings Edinburgh Festival Fringe innovators Forest Fringe to join forces with Melbourne Fringe, our own big, bold and gloriously messy celebration of independent art.
The 10-day FOREST EXCHANGE LAB will be a collaborative space of exchange for three visiting and three local artists. The visiting artists are Forest Fringe co-directors Andy Field (UK) and Deborah Pearson (UK/CAN), who will be joined by Forest Fringe Associate Artist Mish Grigor (SYD). The three local artists will be Melbourne based mid-career artists selected via this expression of interest process, who will each receive a $1,500 honorarium to participate in the Lab.
Together, the six artists will use the FOREST EXCHANGE LAB as a time and place to exchange ideas and collaborate to take over Melbourne’s West with experiments, interventions and talks that permeate throughout the wider 2017 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
FOREST FRINGE X MELBOURNE FRINGE is proudly supported by Melbourne Fringe, The Substation, Hobsons Bay City Council and Maribyrnong City Council
