The purpose of this technical assistance is to assist federally-recognized Indian tribes address identified gaps in justice-related training, legal assistance, and the roles and responsibilities associated with exercising enhanced sentencing authority under the Tribal Law & Order Act (TLOA) of 2010 (Public Law 111-211) and enhancing indigent defense services in tribal communities.
