Chiton Rocks SLSC Member Survey 2022 |
Background
When the club extension was complete, the Board of Management (BOM) sought a caterer to take responsibility for providing catering. Through the caterer, meals and coffee would be available at the club on weekends, and the club, using volunteers, would manage the bar. The caterer is responsible for all aspects of the meals and coffee and retain their profits or losses. The BOM fulfilled its plan to have food available and generated profits from bar sales to support paying off the mortgage and purchasing new equipment. This model has been very successful, but it’s also a lot of work for members who volunteer to run the bar.
The agreement with Chiton Beach Café (CBC) expires in June 2022 and the BOM has made the decision not to renew.
The current model has largely evolved naturally, without a coordinated strategy. The club is in a strong position and the BOM considers it a good time to reassess how the bar/café area is used and consult with club members on this matter. The BOM would like to make informed decisions about the future use of this area over the coming months.
This short survey, for members only, will assist the BOM to assess members thoughts on the matter. The survey information will be treated confidentially, and individual submissions will not be shared or made public. The BOM may share the collective de-identified results with members.
