This survey will help the cities of Bend and Redmond determine the barriers to housing choice that exist in the region, and will help us determine how our federal funds should be spent.

Impediments to fair housing are any actions, omissions, or decisions taken because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin that restrict housing choices or the availability of housing choice, or any actions, omissions, or decisions that have this effect.

“The principles embodied in the concept of Fair Housing are fundamental to healthy communities and that communities must be encouraged and supported to include real, effective, fair housing strategies in their overall planning and development process, not only because it’s the law, but because it’s the right thing to do.”
