2027 Kansas Crime Victims' Rights Conference Call for Presentations

The Kansas Governor’s Grants Program is requesting learning session applications to present at the 29th Annual Crime Victims’ Rights Conference in April 13-15, 2027. The Conference will be in-person at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita, Kansas.

While the theme for the 2027 Conference is being finalized, we encourage proposals that reflect the core values of the conference: empowering survivors, advancing justice, and fostering collaboration. We are seeking dynamic presentations that equip professionals with practical tools, evidence-based practices, and innovative strategies to enhance their work with crime victims.

CVRC will feature national and local subject matter experts leading sessions tailored to professionals at all experience levels. Over 400 victim service and criminal justice professionals are expected to attend.

Focus Areas:
We invite presentations that address a wide range of topics related to victim services, with a particular emphasis on:
  • Expanding Access to Services: Methods for improving access to services and reaching individuals with unmet needs.
  • Specialized Services: Working with child victims, families affected by homicide, and responding to the impact of youth-related violence.
  • Children, Youth, and Families: Supporting children, youth, and families affected by violence, abuse, neglect, and trauma.
  • Trauma-Responsive Practices: Integrating trauma-awareness and trauma-responsive care into victim services and systems.
  • Advanced and Emerging Practice: Building advanced skills and exploring emerging issues in victim services.
  • Organizational Leadership: Building effective, ethical leadership and healthy workplace culture. Topics may include staff support, team dynamics, stress management, and workforce retention.
  • Ethical Practice in Victim/Survivor Services: Exploring real-world ethical challenges, decision-making frameworks, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Practice: Strengthening collaboration among victim service providers, criminal justice professionals, and community partners.
  • Criminal Justice Response: Strategies, practices, and innovations for law enforcement, prosecutors, courts, and other criminal justice professionals in effectively responding to and supporting crime victims and survivors.
