The IEEE Photonics Society established student travel grant programs to encourage student participation at the IEEE Summer Topicals Meeting Series (IEEE SUM), taking place July 13-15, 2020 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The IEEE Photonics Society is awarding a select number of student members and members of the IEEE Women in Photonics program with $2,500 USD grants each. The grant funds are intended to be used for travel, lodging expenses and registration to the conference.

Recipients from developing nations may receive a complimentary registration upon review.

An applicant should be:
  • A full time, degree seeking student, i.e. undergrad, graduate, post-doc, etc., or early career professional up to 15 years post first degree;
  • An IEEE Photonics Society Member;
  • Sponsored by an advisor, professor, mentor or direct supervisor.
