Connect your students with their local watershed! This hands-on program engages students in real-world biology and aquatic ecology. Teachers and students work together to: raise trout from eggs to fingerlings, monitor tank water quality, engage in stream habitat study, appreciate water resources, foster conservation ethic, and understand ecosystem connectivity. Join us for this FREE workshop to learn how you can raise trout in your classroom!
This training is mandatory for any teacher wanting to participate with SWEP, TERC or USFS support. New Trout in the Classroom (TIC) Teachers must attend the 3-hour training (4:00-7:00) as required by Fish & Wildlife agencies for participation in TIC program. Topics covered include: how to care for trout eggs, tank set-up: equipment & procedures, biology and ecology of Lahontan Cutthroat Trout, and introduction to teaching resources.
