Submission Form: Racial Healing Love Letters to Battle Creek |
Submission Guidelines (Español abajo)
The Battle Creek Coalition for Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation is calling our community to come together for our collective healing and liberation. For the fifth annual National Day of Racial Healing, TRHT is launching community-wide invitation to document true stories of racial healing, resilience, resistance, and joy.
TRHT welcomes authors of every nationality, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and age. TRHT seeks authors to tell their truth in their own words. TRHT is interested in love letters, personal essays, think-pieces, memoir, prose poems, formal poems, blank verse, free verse, and short stories.

Additionally, artistic submissions, stories in languages other than English (with translations), and multigenerational perspectives are all welcome and encouraged!
By sharing honest stories, we can reach the hearts and lives of others during a time when we most need to hear, read, and tell these stories. This final book will depict an incomparable snapshot in history.
The deadline to enter your submission is September 15, 2021.
All submissions will be reviewed by a small team of volunteers with TRHT. All responses will be maintained confidentially in a Private TRHT Google Drive Folder.
The book will be available for purchase by National Day of Racial Healing on January 18, 2022. TRHT will provide a free copy of the book to the first 35 authors whose pieces are selected for publishing.
