BATS Program Education Session

Bats of Alberta Training and Supporting (BATS) Program

The Consultation Team of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government wants to invite Citizens of the Métis Nation within Alberta to attend an upcoming engagement session held virtually. These sessions will focus on three migratory bat species listed as endangered under Species at Risk Act (SARA) and Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC): the Hoary Bat, Silver-Haired Bat, and Eastern Red Bat.

Our project coordinators will provide information on the recovery of these species and how to be more involved in understanding species at risk. Please note that a Microsoft Teams link for the meeting and background information on the species will be sent out prior to the engagement to the email you provide below.

- Raising awareness about the Silver-haired Bat, Eastern Red Bat, and Hoary Bat
- Provide information regarding SARA and COSEWIC
- Identify potential recovery methods
