Offered jointly by Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto, Centre for Interprofessional Education (IPE), the Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) Showcase celebrates excellence in team-based learning, interprofessional research and quality improvement, and collaborative care and leadership across our system. This one-day event features keynote and invited speakers, podium presentations, workshops, and a poster fair. Awards are given for best poster and podium presentations. The IPC Showcase brings together people in diverse professions and roles to network with like-minded colleagues, share ideas, and create new opportunities for collaborative initiatives!

Storytelling: The narrative medicine approach CLOSED
This interactive workshop is a short teaser to a 4-hour interprofessional workshop. Participants will engage in a close reading of a poem or short story, group discussion, creative writing and sharing personal stories. This approach to storytelling demonstrates the value of active listening and reflection in enhancing the healthcare journey for patients, caregivers, and clinicians.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe and demonstrate the Narrative Medicine method of close readings, discussion and creative writing.
2. Describe the value of storytelling in the care of patients and in clinicians' wellbeing.
3. Describe the value of storytelling in the development of interprofessional team relationships.

Team Cohesion: What's art got to do with it? CLOSED
This workshop is a simulation experience of an art-making intervention to enhance team cohesion. Participants work in small teams, using an appreciative inquiry lens, to create a joint art-piece reflective of a communal sense of belonging among members.

Learning Objectives:
1. Explore the evidence of arts-based learning and relevant applications for enhancing team cohesion.
2. Understand how joint art-making can impact on health and wellness.
3. Develop knowledge about how to implement an art-making intervention with teams through a real life story and simulation practice.

When Youth Facilitators Share their Lived Experience it Sparks Joy in Teaching, Learning and Care
Building on a strong foundation of youth engagement, our hospital created new leadership and employment roles for youth with childhood onset disabilities. In addition to influencing clinical care and research the youth facilitators embraced an opportunity to create new IPE curriculum for students in the health professions. This workshop will highlight how patients as colleagues and educators contribute to wellness.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe how including the lived experience of young people with childhood onset disability contributes to collaborative care and interprofessional education
2. Identify key strategies for the successful integration of the patient voice into care and education

Supporting and Facilitating Psychological Safety on Interprofessional Teams
Collaborative leaders and high performing teams strive to create a psychological safe team climate where members can speak up and take risks without rejection or punishment. This workshop will explore the link of psychological safety with interprofessional competencies and apply learnings and tools to practice through group discussion and simulation.

Learning Objectives:
1. Define psychological safety and interprofessional competencies that influence the team and organizational culture
2. Reflect on the role of formal and informal collaborative leadership to model and support a safe team climate
3. Apply Psychological Safety team tools through small group facilitation and simulation

Step Into My World: An interprofessional Simulation learning experience on aging & living with mental health concerns CLOSED
The CAMH Student Centre, Professional Practice Office & Simulation Centre partnered to offer students a pilot interprofessional education experience simulating aging with chronic physical illnesses and a mental illness. This interactive workshop will provide participants with an overview of the pilot including evaluation results and adaptations. Participants will then have an opportunity to experience the simulation and debrief.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe an interprofessional simulation-based education session
2. Explore the value of using simulation to facilitate discussions on interprofessional collaborative care
3. Experience the aging simulation suit

Improv'ing the Curriculum, Improv'ing Burnout: The role of improvisational theatre in Health Professions Education
It's time to get serious about play. Improvisational theatre is collaborative storytelling; not comedy. The method is fun but the content is serious. In this workshop, the presenters will explain the underpinning educational theories of improvisational theatre and its potential to combat burnout in health care. Plus, they promise we may laugh, together, as we experience it firsthand.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the role of improvisational theatre in health professions education
2. Understand the 3 rules of improv and how they apply to burnout in healthcare
3. Experience and engage in improve

Facilitators: Dr. Jeremy Rezmovitz from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

Creating Moments of Connection, Joy and Wellbeing for Healthcare Teams: A sampler of arts & wellness-based activities CLOSED
In this workshop, attendees will rotate through three activities designed to support connection, joy, and wellbeing for healthcare teams. Participants will journey through a labyrinth with Spiritual Care, explore the concept of gratitude through mindfulness meditation with Occupational Therapy, and sample Restorative Relaxation with Recreational Therapy. Tips and tools for running the activities will be provided and participants will be encouraged to reflect on what may work best to integrate joy and wellness into their lives and workplace. *Participants are asked to bring headphones for personal use.

1. Identify a variety of arts and wellness-based activities designed to support team functioning
2. Compare activities based upon experience and consider which activities might be most appropriate for your team

Facilitators: Krysta Halliwell and Nicole Pittman from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Lecia Kiska from Sinai Health System

Mini Healing Garden Challenge CLOSED
Co-hosted by Radiation Therapy and Grounds Team, participants will have the opportunity to experience core competencies for interprofessional collaboration in the context of a healing garden designed to support wellness for patients, families and teams. Participants will engage in a collaborative planting exercise.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discover the healing properties of nature by taking intentional time for mindfulness to nurture wellness & emotional health
2. Identify how acceptance, respect & value of individual wellness enhances relational-centred care & contributes to patient outcomes and collaborative practice
3. Reflect on how nature can impact patients and families wellbeing
