Background

The HQIP 'Directory' is a guidance document that collates high level information supplied by the teams that manage national audit and quality improvement programmes. It is a tool/resource designed to assist healthcare service providers in planning and reporting on their audit activity each year. It is refreshed regularly and includes:
  • NCAPOP projects (commissioned by HQIP)
  • Projects included in the NHS England Quality Accounts List (and operated by other organisations)
  • Other national quality improvement projects operated by other organisations.
Please note that The Directory is a publicly available Excel workbook and the information you provide in this survey will be included in the next version release scheduled to take place ahead of the 2026-27 financial year. This next version will include information on national programmes collecting data in 2025-26, along with those that plan to collect data in 2026-27. Please see detailed instructions below for more information.

Note that NCAPOP programmes do not need to complete this survey.

SURVEY INSTRUCTIONS

A separate survey should be completed for each work stream or topic, if it is:
  • Collecting national data during the financial years (1 April to 31 March) 2025-26 and/or 2026-27
  • Publishing a national report during calendar years (1 January to 31 December) 2025, 2026 and/or 2027.
