1. Survey Introduction

As part of implementing Collingwood’s Tourism Master Plan, the Town is creating an inventory of tangible and intangible local and regional tourism assets. The Town is working with Bannikin to develop this tool.

As part of the process, a Tourism Business Survey is running from Wednesday, 15 October to Sunday, 9 November at 11:59 p.m. to gather insights from owners and operators of tourism-related businesses in Collingwood.

Purpose of the survey: To gather insights on the market readiness and accessibility level of visitor-facing tourism businesses located within the municipality. This will help inform tourism marketing initiatives, as well as provide insights on areas of support to be better prepared to welcome visitors.

Who should participate: We are interested in gathering insights from businesses that operate within the Town of Collingwood and sell goods and services directly to visitors (i.e., visitor-facing businesses). This may include, but is not limited to, accommodations, food and beverage establishments, transportation operators, retailers, etc.

The survey is made up of 19 questions and should take between 5-10 minutes to complete. Hard copies of the survey are also available at the Town’s Economic Development office at the Business Development Centre at 105 Hurontario Street.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this Tourism Business Survey. Your insights are greatly appreciated and will help inform future initiatives to support the tourism industry in Collingwood.

Confidentiality: We value your privacy and appreciate the confidentiality of information you provide through this survey. Your responses will be kept private and confidential within the project team (incl. Bannikin, and the Town of Collingwood project lead). Your business name, and other identifying details will only be used to confirm you are an existing business in the Town of Collingwood, and will not be attached to your business name in any public-facing materials.
