Couchiching Institute on Public Affairs

At Couchiching, we pride ourselves on making our programs as accessible as possible, including scholarships for our annual Summer Conference.
All successful applicants receive one year’s membership in the Institute, with the expectation that they will participate in the Institute’s year-round activities and contribute as active members in subsequent years.
Scholarships may cover all or part of the registration and shared accommodation (dormitory-style), and in some cases transportation from Toronto (usually by car pool or bus) to the Orillia area where the conference is located. Air and train travel costs are not covered. The amount of the award varies from year to year and depends on resources available. Although applicants are not disqualified from applying based on having received an award in a previous year, first-time applicants take precedence.
To apply, please complete and return the application form and forward to couch@couchichinginstitute.ca proof of enrollment (e.g. student number) if applicable; expression of interest in public affairs in general and the conference topic in particular; indication of how you will get involved with groups/communities to promote the Institute’s mandate of engaging Canadians in public affairs, thus promoting an active and participatory citizenry (“involvement” extends to membership or leadership in various groups, writing articles, teaching, etc.); and current résumé or link to LinkedIn or similar profile websites.
