The New Zealand government advocates zero tolerance for people being killed or seriously injured on our roads. The Waka Kotahi/NZTA Road to Zero strategy is part of the country’s plan to build the safest road system we can, and work towards zero road deaths and serious injuries.

As part of the government’s national strategy, our Council has produced a draft Speed Management Plan for our district, on potential changes to speed limits on local roads under Council control. [link]

This is your opportunity to give feedback about these proposals.

Please note: any comments on changes to national speed limits should be directed to Waka Kotahi/NZTA, including any comments on speed limits on state highways. Also, we cannot consider suggestions about individual private roads. This consultation is about categories of roads.
