The Historical Novel Society Australasia (HNSA) is delighted to open our 2026 ARA Readers’ Choice Award contest to give HNSA newsletter subscribers an opportunity to vote for their favourite novel in the ARA Historical Novel Prize Adult Category longlist. ARA Group is generously offering prize money of $5,000 to the winning novelist so you can do your bit to help them win!
Voters will automatically go into the draw to win one of two signed book bundles of the 9 longlisted novels.Rules:

- Only Australian and New Zealand subscribers may enter.
- The contest ends at noon on 1 October, 2026 AEDT.
- Two winners will be drawn via random.org

The winner of the ARA Readers' Choice Award will be announced at the award ceremony on 15 October 2026.
