The APS believes that social media can provide a valuable connection between widely dispersed members by allowing them to share and discuss their love of photography whenever they want.

The ongoing popularity of Group Folios shows the importance of contact between members who discuss Folio images. We can now provide similar activities via Facebook which has the advantage of informality, flexibility and immediacy.

This year APSCON will have a workshop designed to answer your questions and to get you started with a Facebook account, but we need your help to structure the workshop. We need to understand your interest, or lack of interest, your concerns and questions. Without that the workshop would be in danger of 'missing the mark'. The media loves to sensationalise 'problems' with social media but the reality is rather different. The workshop will explain the workings of Facebook, the controls you have over its operation and matters of privacy and security.
