Town of Kirkland Lake – Backyard Hen Survey

As part of its commitment to engaging the community, the Town of Kirkland Lake is exploring a new bylaw that would permit the keeping of backyard hens (female chickens) in both urban and rural areas. This initiative follows a petition from over 70 residents presented to council.

To better guide Council in making a decision, a public survey to gather input regarding the potential of keeping backyard hens has been developed. Your feedback is vital — whether you are considering raising hens, have concerns, or want to learn more.
