The Academic Orthopaedic Consortium (AOC) is a company that connects 125 University based Orthopedic Departments across the country for the purpose of business and leadership.  Over 80% of our Orthopaedic residents and fellows join private practice every year and the AOC wants to increase the visibility of YOUR practice to bring you and our graduating residents and fellows from 125 Universities together more efficiently for recruitment.

As you read this, we are in process of organizing a site that will aggregate all orthopaedic surgeon jobs across 125 universities onto one site and have offered the 700 private orthopaedic practices associated with the AAOE an opportunity to post all jobs for free to help recruiting cycles for all involved. We will extend this same offer to ALL those who are hiring orthopaedic surgeons as we recognize that not all are members of the AOC or AAOE.  As you can imagine, this site will have tremendous visibility nationally not only from trainees but from many others as such a site has never existed and will significantly reduce expense and efforts associated with search and recruitment.

Please take 4-5 minutes to answer below so we can gauge the value of this to your practice.

Thank you

Question Title

* 15. Were you aware that 87% of Residents & Fellows report that they are either anxious/very anxious about the job market and that 91% report that it is very inefficient to identify what private practice jobs are even available and consider "word of mouth" and "cold-calling" your practice to be the best option available to them?

Question Title

* 16. Were you aware that 100% of these same residents surveyed across 61 Departments indicate that they would consider a single site that listed all academic and private practice jobs that are open to be an "amazing" resource and that 100% of them would utilize this and 94% suggested this would become a "superior alternative" to any other resource available today?

Question Title

* 17. A single job post for 30 days on AAOS or JBJS costs approximately $500 and it is suggested by AAOS that it takes an average of 7 months to recruit a surgeon, which would cost $3,500 for one job post.  This site will be free unlimited job posting through at least January 31, 2021 for all practices with no commitment and after that for groups who wish to post there will be a nominal fee for posting (around $300/post per month).  This would eliminate the need to post elsewhere. (The site would also offer recruiting assistance capped at 10% of 1st year comp and paid only after hire starts.).

What thoughts do you have on this and how it might help your practice?

Question Title

* 18. A single site like this would increase efficiency, save money, lower resident/fellow anxiety, develop recruitment pipelines, satisfy anti-discrimination laws for job posting, and re-set recruiting fees to much lower levels...keep in mind that less visible markets that struggle to recruit would be GREATLY helped by such a site that has ALL practices participating due to the added visibility such a site would create for ALL.

If all private practice surgeon job posts were free through January 31, 2021 to assist recruitment cycles - would you consider using this after that date if the fee were nominal?
