The Limes College is currently in the process for consulting with stakeholders for completing a Significant Change Application. The AP college is seeking to establish a new satellite site on Sunningdale Road, within close proximity of our current site in Sutton West Centre, Robin Hood Lane.
The new satellite site will be a genuine extension of our current school, replicating the Limes College’s core mission of supporting students from a relationship and family context, taking into account of their personal background and using education as a means to empower our children to find their place in the world. The new satellite site will exclusively offer vocational courses which cannot be currently accommodated within our main school site. Initially, the school will offer construction courses from Year 9 up to the end of KS4, both for children currently attending our AP, as well as other students from neighbouring schools upon referral. Students from other provisions will be dual registered from the feeder school as well as the Limes College, and will receive the same level of safeguarding and holistic services under the Limes College framework. There is currently a strong demand for practical, hands-on courses in relation to construction. Within Sutton, there are currently no registered AP providers who are offering courses related to wet trades.
As part of our intent for establishing a satellite site, the Limes College will be formalising a PAN increase of 60 places, with 20 places accommodating our new site, and the remaining 40 for accommodating students who are placed within our College on an ad-hoc, temporary basis throughout the course of the academic year following referral.
Lastly, our Significant Change consultation process also involves the formalisation of our BOOST provision into a SEN Unit. As part of Limes College, BOOST is a 14-place, girls-only provision, diagnosed with social, emotional, and mental health SEMH needs or autism spectrum condition (ASC). These girls already have EHCPs or are currently awaiting assessments. They are highly vulnerable, with many being affected by gang violence and domestic abuse.
The consultation period for our Significant Change will run from 12:00pm 7th of October 2024 to 12:00pm 28th of October 2024. We would welcome your views surrounding the proposed changes and formalisation of processes for the Limes College. For this reason, we would be grateful if you could complete the survey below:
