This series of programs (100+ hours in total) is dedicated to being prepared for the inevitable crash of the predatory economical engine in the context of our region in terms of culture, climate and social form guided by the PDC process. The unique blend in the team's experience and background that of THATI should allow us to have deeper discussions and longer time stretch than that which is usually offered during the pervious PDC courses, intentionally so to offer higher retention of the content in an apprenticeship approach. Offered now in separate yet serial courses we will cover the basics of design, principles in decision making and THATI's concept in the introductory program, then dive into the states of water in different contexts and how to manage it, leading to covering the foundation of resilience and basic human needs in soil & land management, next covering how perviously people accumulated knowledge and survival applications in the 3 main climates with more focus on our region's, and finally covering the different social constructs and options for establishing/managing communities or social systems. Every program/course has a project submission at the end of it and each is separated with a grace period to start the next program to allow for more time for reflection, reading and consolidation when available. There are usually field trips distributed throughout the series for better real life understanding, also an optional final design exercise of project presentation for those that are interested in being certified as Permaculture Designers from THATI.
