CCSN Nurturing Parenting Support Group Survey

CCSN is proud to announce a new program designed to build nurturing parenting skills. Mentors across all our sites have been trained and certified in the Evidence Based Program, Nurturing Parenting. We’d like to offer parents a 12-week, 2-hour, and in person Nurturing Parenting group-based program that would take place once a week. But we’d like to ask you to take a moment to help us create a parent support group that would benefit you.

The Nurturing Programs are family-based discussions where parents and their children learn similar knowledge and skills for improving the quality of their lives. The nurturing philosophy of non-violent parenting focuses on the development of empathy, self-worth, self-awareness, empowerment, discipline with dignity, appropriate family roles and age-appropriate expectations of children's development. Group-based settings have several advantages for parents in that they allow for the instructor to provide lessons in order for parenting practices to improve through individual lessons, evaluations, and home practice assignments.

While our Mentors are working with parents, children meet in separate groups that run at the same time, allowing for the opportunity to engage in learning without any distractions or worry. We can also enroll siblings into the program so the entire family is engaged in the same program. In addition to offering this parenting group, we will also provide the family attending with a meal before or after the program.
