SURVEY CONSENT

The purpose of this research is to explore patients' opinions and experiences, in the area of cosmetic injectables (facial injections used for cosmetic reasons such as anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and/or fat-dissolving injections). This is a research being conducted by Dermatologist Dr Cara McDonald. If you are 18 years or older, you are invited to participate in this research project if you have undergone any cosmetic injectable treatments in the past.

The results will be collated for educational purposes, with no individual results being presented. Data will be aggregated before being shared or published.

Your participation in this research is voluntary. You may choose not to participate. If you decide to participate in this research survey, you may withdraw at any time. If you decide not to participate in this study or if you withdraw from participating at any time, you will not be penalised in any way. 

Participation involves completing an online survey that will take approximately 10 minutes. Your responses will be kept confidential and we will not be collecting any personal identifying information such as your name, email address or IP address. The survey questions will only relate to your cosmetic injectable treatments. All information will be collected kept securely and stored in a password protected electronic format.  

RISK  Although there are no specific risks anticipated with this study, some participants may be susceptible to mood changes during or after completing questions related to appearance and patient experience.  If you feel uncomfortable as a result of your participation you may stop at any time. If you experience any distress after participating in this study, please seek help from your local helpline or doctor.  Lifeline, phone: 13 11 14 (Australia only), for 24-hour crisis counselling.

BENEFIT  Whilst there may be no immediate individual benefits resulting from participation, it is anticipated that findings will make a significant contribution to the literature on patient experience in cosmetic medicine.
