Tribal Nutrition Assistance Program (TNAP) - Food Card Distribution - November 2025
Department of Community and Family Wellness
The Tribal Nutrition Assistance Program (TNAP) was established to help eligible tribes and tribal organizations to address food insecurity and inequities.
To qualify for this program, individuals must be enrolled with the Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation and reside within the five-county service area. **Please note that the official address associated with your enrollment will be verified to determine eligibility.**
In order to address the CalFresh/SNAP benefits pause due to the government shutdown, this distribution will prioritize families who reside in California and are (or were supposed to receive) CalFresh/SNAP benefits in November 2025. Those who will be prioritized must provide verification of benefits received in October 2025. Once the immediate emergency needs of these families have been addressed, we will open eligibility to TDN Citizens not currently receiving these funds and continuing distribution until available funds are fully exhausted. Those who receive assistance through Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (such as Yurok Food Distribution or similar) (FDPIR) will not be eligible for prioritization as they will not be considered impacted by the pause in benefits.
Please email verification of benefits for CalFresh/SNAP to tnap@tolowa.gov or bring a copy to 140 Rowdy Creek Road in Smith River, CA.
Completing this application does not guarantee approval; due to limited funding, some applicants may be placed on a waiting list.
