Informed Consent
The Saint Louis Science Center is redesigning its Youth Exploring Science (YES) program, and we want your input on what it should become.
What YES has been. For more than twenty-five years, YES has brought St. Louis high school students into the Science Center for hands-on STEM experiences, stipends, and sustained relationships with staff and mentors. It has served young people, and for many of them it shaped what came next.
Why we are asking. The region has changed, and so have the paths into STEM careers. Rather than assume we already know what a redesigned program should look like, we are starting with the community. Your responses will help identify where young people in this region have access to STEM opportunities, where they do not, and what a redesigned program should provide.
You do not need to know anything about YES to answer these questions. Most of this survey asks what you see in your own community and what you think a strong STEM program should do for young people.
How this works. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary. While the findings are stronger when every item has a response, you may skip any question and you may stop at any time. Responses will be reported in aggregate. No response will be presented in a way that identifies you as an individual or your organization.
