2020 COMMUNITY SURVEY

With over 100 participants in last year's survey, United Way of Hernando County was able to further their on-going goal of sharpening the focus of their investments and truly target Hernando County's greatest needs.

United Way would like to hear from YOU to openly discuss the barriers and needs our community faces, especially the on-going barriers caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please answer the following questions.

Born Learning Trail (Interactive trails installed in parks that encourage parents and caregivers to engage with their young children and utilize the fun tips and activities the 10 stations provide.)

Little Free Library (Structures filled with constantly changing collections of books donated and shared by people and children, encouraged to take a book and leave a book.)

Student Board (Volunteer opportunities for high school & college students looking to enhance their leadership skills and community involvement.)

Stuff the Bus (County-wide school supplies drive for Hernando teachers in effort to supply the classroom with general materials.)

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance; Free tax preparation service from January – April for low to moderate income households.)

(ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. It represents a population of people who are working but whose salaries do not match Hernando's general cost of living. Basic costs like housing, food and gas can be difficult when one unexpected expense, like a car repair or medical bill, can tip them over into financial crisis.)
