“We are the medicines experts in your community”

CCPG’s transformational purpose is enabling inspired and successful pharmacy.

We work to ensure pharmacists are core, valued members of the primary care team of health professionals and able to deliver an enhanced range of evidence-based health services to improve patient outcomes.
To achieve viable, sustainable community pharmacy business in Canterbury, we want to include all pharmacists, not just pharmacy owners.  We believe this will help us to broaden our skill base to provide the most appropriate primary care pharmacy services to our community.

Since our beginning in 2008, we have made progress in strategically positioning community pharmacy as an integral part of the primary health care team.  As part of the Canterbury Clinical Network CCPG is acknowledged, accepted and consulted at all levels in the planning and development of new health care services for our patients and communities.

We passed a resolution back at our Annual General Meeting in November 2010 to include non-proprietor pharmacists as Associate members.  This is your invitation to join us in growing the services offered by community pharmacists in Canterbury.  Please note, you do not have to be working in a CCPG member pharmacy to join, but you must be a pharmacist or an intern and registered with the Pharmacy Council of NZ.  The associate member representative is currently Jeremy Grooby.  Jeremy is keen to represent your views and ideas to the executive committee and ensure that they are heard.

What’s in it for you? We see this as an opportunity for you to invest in your pharmacy career. As an associate member of the CCPG you will have the opportunity to network with your colleagues and to stay up-to-date with the latest information from the pharmacy sector, provided to you in a timely manner. We also see this as a valuable forum through which associate members will be able to voice their ideas and opinions and help enact change within the pharmacy profession.

With your assistance, we have a stronger voice to lobby locally for more professional services.  More professional services lead to better job satisfaction, continuing relevant professional education and meeting ongoing recertification (competence) requirements.
