Health Plans Trends in Interoperability and the Bright Future of Healthcare Data |
With respect to health information technology, interoperability refers to the United States’ national effort to enable a secure exchange of electronic health information with, and use of electronic health information from, other health information technology without special effort on the part of the user.
These efforts will allow for complete access, exchange, and use of all electronically accessible health information for authorized use under applicable State or Federal law, and is a primary focus of health systems, health payers, and health members leading up to the implementation of these requirements over the next three years.
In this short 15-question survey, we hope to understand how today’s health plan leaders are thinking about interoperability and what potential leaders like you see in a world of accessible, shareable, and secure health data.
