Conditions: Story must have been published/broadcast in a Metropolitan Perth based publication/channel in the season under review.
Best Feature Story
Best Feature Story can be a positive one-off metro thoroughbred racing related news item published/broadcast on any medium, including reporting about races, racing industry happenings, and published in daily or weekly newspapers or online publications, or TV, radio or other information dissemination platforms such as social media. Nominations will be judged on the following elements:
• Use of medium
• News value
• Research
• Writing and/or editing
• Technical excellence
• Incisiveness
• Impact
• Public/Industry benefit
• Ethics
• Originality
• Creativity
Entry Criteria / Process
• All entries must have been published/broadcast to a Western Australian audience during the season under review, by a Western Australian based publication/channel, subject to the conditions pertaining to each code.

• Entries may include published:
o printed articles
o online articles and/or videos
o radio interviews/features (excluding race calls)
o television interviews/features (excluding race calls)
• All entries/submissions must include:
o Synopsis/background of the story
o A copy of the story
Who can enter:
• Any person who wrote/created/presented a story about the racing industry in Western Australia that was published or broadcast within the state in the 2017/2018 season (Metro Thoroughbred Racing, Country Thoroughbred Racing: August 1, 2017 and July 31, 2018; Harness Racing: September 1, 2017 and August 31, 2018; Greyhound Racing: January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018) is eligible to enter.
o printed articles
o online articles and/or videos

o television interviews/features (excluding race calls)

Who nominates:
• Journalists/authors/race callers may nominate themselves or nominated by colleagues, editors, etc.
• Racing & Wagering WA staff and board members, Race Clubs and Industry Organisations e.g. Trainers, Owners, Breeders, Jockeys Associations, may also nominate entrants
