Winter Harbour LED Street Light Conversion |
Welcome to the Winter Harbour Street Light Consultation Survey
In 2021, BC Hydro is planning on replacing all of the existing High Pressure Sodium Street Lights with LED models. The new street lights will use less electricity and should require less maintenance. The Regional District of Mount Waddington is consulting with all our communities that will be impacted by this conversion in hopes of allowing residents to select the most appropriate lighting for their neighbourhood.
The following multiple choice questions ask respondents to give their preference for the desired wattage for the specific street light in question with an option also provided to opt to remove the street light completely. The street light questions are in sequential order based on the light's designated id#. Respondents do not need to answer every question and a map showing street light locations with the id# can be found on the Regional District's website. At the end of the survey is a comment box for those who want expand their submission. The survey will also ask for your name and address so that the reviewer will get a better context of your submission. If you wish to decline entering your name and contact information, your submission will still be received and will contribute to the guidance.
The responses will be compiled together and will provide guidance for the Winter Harbour Rate Payer's Association in making the final decisions when directing BC Hydro's installation project. If you have questions, please contact the Regional District at 250 956-3301 or email us at info@rdmw.bc.ca and put "Winter Harbour Street Lights" on the subject line.
