Dear Owner,
Are you interested in knowing how your rental property compares to other properties within Scott County?
Each year, our Agency is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to review and compare market-rate rents for our area. By completing the survey we will be able to conduct a more accurate Rental Market Comparison Study for Scott County.
In addition to comparing market-rate rent amounts, HUD requires our office to take these factors into consideration: location, size, quality and age, amenities, housing services and maintenance, and utilities provided by the owner under the lease.
Once our office receives the completed survey forms, the results are compiled by location and put into a spreadsheet format. This information is used to help our Agency determine rent reasonableness for our area.
We would be happy to share the end results of this study with your property. This could be a useful tool to aid you in evaluating rent structures and incentives in the current marketplace. Please indicate on the last page of the enclosed survey if you would like us to mail you a copy of the final Rent Comparison form.
