Site Selection Survey

Introduction

Welcome! Thank you for participating in the Town of New Canaan’s Affordable Housing Committee’s (AHC) site selection survey.

The Town is evaluating whether and how to plan for Affordable Housing development in order to maintain local control over housing decisions. Building these units helps us meet our State requirements under CGS 8-30G and maintain moratoria, preventing most developers from bypassing local zoning.

After reviewing a range of public and private properties, the AHC identified three downtown parking lots for further study. This survey asks for feedback on preliminary development concepts for each site. These concepts are intended to illustrate the maximum number of Affordable Housing units and parking that could fit on each property. They are not final designs.

The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Because it is a graphic heavy survey, we highly recommend completing it on a computer, rather than a phone or tablet. Your feedback will help inform the Committee’s recommendation to Town officials.
