Overview:
Recently, BID Members have let us know that they would like to make changes to their business to make them more accessible. To help facilitate these changes, Chester BID has introduced the Accessible Assistance Grant. You are invited to apply for a grant of up to £500 towards equipment, training, or additional enhancements that make your business more accessible to disabled people, wheelchair users, and carers.
Objective:
The objective is to support your business in creating a more accessible environment. Applications must fit one of the following criteria:
•Physical modifications to your business, e.g., signage, ramps, toilets, hearing loops, emergency cords.
•Provide training to ensure your team is aware of how to support disabled people, wheelchair users, and carers, e.g, disability awareness, BSL training.
•Support projects or events that are inclusive of disabled people, wheelchair users, and carers.
Eligibility:
The scheme is open to any Chester BID businesses registered to pay the BID Levy. Proposals must meet at least one of the scheme objectives.
Application Process:
Applications must be made online, and applicants will be asked to demonstrate how their proposal fits the criteria.
Notes:
•Only 1 application per business per year.
•Maximum grant is £500, proof of purchase or evidence of activity may be required.
•Grants cannot be used to cover BID Levy or general business expenses.
•Funding for the Accessibility Grant is not derived from the BID Levy.
•If non-levy income reduces, the scheme will be paused until levels increase.
