In order to meet a federal safety regulation, CRMU is conducting our annual public awareness plan survey. * 6. Natural gas is odorless and colorless.  For safety purposes, CRMU adds an odorant to the gas - giving it a rotten egg smell.  This smell is one of the primary signs of a gas leak. If you ever smell gas in your home, please leave your home and call CRMU @ 712-999-2225 or 9-1-1 for assistance.
